Educational Program

Rozelle Child Care Centre provides high quality education and care, whilst offering an extended hours preschool and long day care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

Our vision is to continue to provide an environment and program, where each child's individual needs are met. Our program is progressive, adapting practices from different approaches, including the National Quality Standard, The Early Years Learning Framework, Play based & Interest based learning.  We share the view of children as strong and capable learners, who learn not in isolation but in collaboration with each other and place an emphasis on an aesthetic environment being an integral part of our program, with the focus on making the children’s areas inviting and stimulating. We strive to provide an aesthetically pleasing, inviting and "home like" environment that fosters creativity, exploration and imagination. We explore our local community and share the knowledge and history of Callan Park with the children, families and educators. Our program is inclusive of the historical site we sit on and belong to, as we visit Callan Park on a weekly basis with the children to share this natural space.

We believe teachers, while guiding and supporting children’s knowledge and interests, actually are learners in the process as well. We value continued learning as early childhood educators, frequently attending professional development courses to challenge our thinking and reflect and evaluate our practices.

Families are instrumental in our philosophy and the exchange of information about children between parents and the centre is very important.

0-2 year room: 16 children with 6 educators (five full time and one part time)

2-3 year room: 15 children with 4 educators

3-5 year room: 25 children with 4 educators

Family Involvement

Rozelle Child Care Centre truly reflects it's name of a Community Based Child Care Centre.

Each family is encouraged to part take in family involvement, contributing in some way to the Centre, thereby ensuring it’s ongoing improvement and maintaining the community feel.  You may chose to attend meetings and perhaps join the Management Committee or Events Committee, volunteer your services for maintenance, come in and share a skill with the children or join the staff taking children on excursions, to name a few.

Fundraising is also very important to the centre and enables us to upgrade our existing facilities and provide new ones.  We have undergone three major redevelopments from 2012-2015, with the completion of a new natural inspired 0-2 & 2-3 year playground, and a revamped front entrance area. The centre has truly been transformed due to the overwelming efforts of the Management Committee, the Events Committee, and the staff and family's endless support.
