Rozelle Child Care Centre provides high quality education and care, whilst offering an extended hours preschool and long day care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.

Our vision is to continue to provide an environment and program, where each child's individual needs are met. Our program is progressive, adapting practices from different approaches, including the Early Years Learning Framework, Play based learning and aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach.  We share the Reggio Emilia view of children as strong and capable learners, who learn not in isolation but in collaboration with each other and place an emphasis on an aesthetic environment being an integral part of our program, with the focus on making the children’s areas inviting and stimulating. We strive to provide an aesthetically pleasing, inviting and "home like" environment that fosters creativity, exploration and imagination. We explore our local community and share the knowledge and history of Callan Park with the children, families and educators. Our program is inclusive of the historical site we sit on and belong to, as we visit Callan Park on a weekly basis with the children to share this natural space.

We believe teachers, while guiding and supporting children’s knowledge and interests, actually are learners in the process as well. We value continued learning as early childhood educators, frequently attending professional development courses to challenge our thinking and reflect and evaluate our practices.

Families are instrumental in our philosophy and the exchange of information about children between parents and the centre is very important.

 

Rozelle Child Care Centre has three seperate learning spaces:

- Nursery, children 6 weeks to 2 years . 16 children with 6 staff

- Toddlers, children 2 year to 3 years. 15 children with 4 staff

- Preschoolers, children 3-5 years. 25 children with 4 staff
