Service

Rozelle Community Child Care Centre is located within the historic grounds of Callan Park, in the heritage Gatelodge building. We share this sacred land and historic ‘meeting place’ of Callan Park, with the traditional Wangal and Gadigal custodians of the land. We are co-carers of the land and often venture out into the community.

We value and are fortunate to have a dedicated parent management committee.  

We reflect the foundation of community, between the children, the early childhood educators, the families and the wider community of people.

We honour and celebrate everyone's diverse cultures, values, and beliefs. These influence and shape who we are and are incorporated within our practice. We believe in a holistic approach to caring for and educating young children where learning is interconnected.

Child

We value each child’s, educator’s and families’ abilities, strengths and interests and collaborate with them to share insight through ongoing reflective practice.

Paramount to learning is the strong collaborative relationships between the child, family and educator.

A strong emphasis is placed on a welcoming, relaxed and home like environment, that nurtures trust, respect and understanding of the unique characters and individuality every family and educator brings to our community.

Educators

Educator’s work collaboratively in the educational program drawing on their expertise in using the learning framework. Educators empower children’s sense of freedom and choice, by validating their voice. Intentional teaching facilitates learning, where educators join a child’s play and model reasoning, assist in predictions, scaffold children’s knowledge by collaboration with others through conversation and interaction.

We value regular communication that fosters an ongoing partnership and builds a circle of security around the child.

We are a safe place where emphasis is placed on the wellbeing and care of our community.
